The Government of Zimbabwe, through the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in collaboration with the SADC Secretariat and the CZI/ SADO Business Council will be hosting the 7th Annual SADC Industrialization Week in Harare from 29 July 2024 to 02 August 2024 a t the Harare International Conference Center. The event will be held under the theme “Promoting Innovation to Unlock Opportunities for Sustained Economic Growth and Development towards an Industrialized SADC”.
The SADC Industrialization Week (SIW) is a public-private engagement platform that fosters new intra-African trade and regional investment opportunities and is convened annually on the margins of the SADC Ordinary Summit. The SIW further provides a n opportunity to popularize the implementation of the SADC Industrialization Strategy and Roadmap (2015-2063), a key anchor for driving industrialization in the region.
The event brings together amongst others, the public, private sector, and International Cooperating Partners to interact, exchange views, and showcase SADC/regional products and potential investment opportunities that are critical for the region’s industrialization agenda. The event comprises the following: –
i. A five (5) day-private sector exhibition;
ii. Investment Conference;
iii. Business to Business meetings,
iv. Plenary and parallel meetings covering industry, trade, and investment issues; and
v. Organized factory site visits, to share best practices with Zimbabwe Industries.
